Welcome to Ancient Earth News
At Ancient Earth News, we believe that understanding Africa’s present requires deep respect for its past. As your premier portal for trusted African journalism, we bring you timely, accurate, and thoughtful coverage of the stories that shape the continent—from bustling capital cities to remote rural communities.

We focus on the issues that matter most to Africans and those who care about the continent:
- Politics and governance
- Economic development and innovation
- Cultural heritage and contemporary arts
- Environmental challenges and conservation
- Social justice and human rights
- Regional conflicts and peacebuilding
About the Creator
Ancient Earth News was founded by Keiran Marwood, a South African journalist and storyteller with over a decade of experience covering African affairs. Raised in Cape Town and deeply rooted in the landscapes of the Western Cape, Keiran’s passion for African narratives began with childhood visits to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden—where the resilience of native flora sparked a lifelong curiosity about the continent’s enduring strength and complexity.
Why This Website Exists
Too often, Africa’s stories are told by outsiders, filtered through stereotypes or reduced to crisis reporting. Ancient Earth News was born from a desire to change that. We exist to provide a platform where African voices lead the conversation, where nuance is valued over noise, and where journalism serves not just to inform, but to inspire informed action.
Our Values
We are committed to:
- Accuracy — Every fact is verified, every source credited
- Independence — No corporate or political agendas influence our reporting
- Empathy — We center the human experience behind every headline
- Continuity — We honor Africa’s rich history while documenting its evolving future
